Released

Track meals, symptoms and bowel movements so you can spot what affects your gut.

Android · Gut health tracking

Getting started

  1. Install GoodGut Diary from Google Play (link above) and open it.
  2. Work through the first-run screens, then land on your diary.
  3. Start by logging one thing today. A diary only becomes useful with a few days of entries.

Logging food

  1. Add a meal entry from the diary screen.
  2. To scan a packaged food, choose the barcode option and point the camera at the barcode. The app looks the product up in the Open Food Facts database.
  3. If a product is not found, add it by hand.

Using the Bristol Stool Chart

  1. When you log a bowel movement, pick the type that matches the Bristol Stool Chart (types 1 to 7).
  2. The insights screen explains what each type generally indicates.

Insights

  1. Open the insights screen to see patterns across your entries over time.
  2. The more days you log, the more meaningful the patterns are.

Exporting a PDF

  1. Use the export option to create a PDF of your diary.
  2. Share the PDF with a doctor or dietitian, or keep it as a record.
