GoodGut Diary
Released
Track meals, symptoms and bowel movements so you can spot what affects your gut.
Getting started
- Install GoodGut Diary from Google Play (link above) and open it.
- Work through the first-run screens, then land on your diary.
- Start by logging one thing today. A diary only becomes useful with a few days of entries.
Logging food
- Add a meal entry from the diary screen.
- To scan a packaged food, choose the barcode option and point the camera at the barcode. The app looks the product up in the Open Food Facts database.
- If a product is not found, add it by hand.
Using the Bristol Stool Chart
- When you log a bowel movement, pick the type that matches the Bristol Stool Chart (types 1 to 7).
- The insights screen explains what each type generally indicates.
Insights
- Open the insights screen to see patterns across your entries over time.
- The more days you log, the more meaningful the patterns are.
Exporting a PDF
- Use the export option to create a PDF of your diary.
- Share the PDF with a doctor or dietitian, or keep it as a record.
